Changes to Come

So, I'm just going to get right to it.

There are some definite changes happening to RavenSylphe Productions.

First off, yes to those who might have noticed that the site/facebook/twitter for Silverborn are now gone, the Silverborn is canceled for the forseeable future. The main reason for this is I want the series to be something way more than a World of Warcraft machinima series. I don't mean anything against wow machinima of course, it's just that the Silverborn has become so much more to me as I have written the story and created the world. I want to try to expand it to something more. Maybe I'll take what I have a write it into a novel, or maybe I'll try my hand at 3d animation and try it from there. I don't know yet, but hopefully it won't just sit and gather dust on my hard drive. I'll keep you guys updated on that.

Secondly, my inactivity on youtube, facebook, twitter, ect will not be so. I'll try to keep everyone even more updated, try to create more videos, ect ect ect! I have a few videos in production, not very far, but there you go. I'm going to try my hand at telling stories on a smaller scale than I full blown series, and also pick up my wand and try making music again.

Speaking of which, all my music that I have created so far is now free to download from my PureVolume page!

...anyways, I think that's all I really have to say, so I hope you all I happy 4.3 and Winter Holidays!

A LACK OF MUSE

Hello everyone, friends and fans. I'm so sorry that it's been so long since I last posted any information on what I've been up to. I hate to say it, but, I really haven't been up to anything. I've been having all kinds of blocks take up residence in my inspiration center. Artist's Block, Writer's Block, and the terrifying Machinimator's Block are among the squators. I'm having a hard time getting them to vacate the premesis.

Until I get back this block, I'm afraid there's probably going to be a very small chance of me releasing any new videos for a while.

Not for lack of trying, of course.

HALLOWED GREETINGS

It's most definetly that time of year again, when the Azerothian winds turn cold and crisp, and the wonderful adventure filled nights come earlier and last longer. Yep, it's time again for Hallow's End. It's again time for the dreaded Headless Horseman to begin his bombardment of our fair Alliance/Horde towns. ...well, he can have Goldshire, I'm sure my fellow Moon Guardians will agree with me on that.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a fun Hallow's End, with lots of candy and a good chance at snatching the Horseman's Mount.

THE IMPORTANT STUFF

I'm sure at this point everyone is wondering what is the status of my current projects. Though not much progress has been made, I assure you that they are constantly in my thoughts.

WITCH HUNT

World of Warcraft Hallow's End Machinima

Like most machinimators and parody artists out there in the WoW machinima community, I do plan to do a video to celebrate this holiday. It's going to be very short and hopefully entertaining, set only to music, with very few sound effects, but hopefully the story will come across clearly, if at all. Expect it sometime between now and the end of the month.

THE SILVERBORN: FALL OF THE ORDER

Probably my longest talked about project, and probably the most anticipated. Unfortunetly, it is still only in the writing stage, though at this point a majority of the episodes are written or outlined, characters have been designed, and locations decided. However, due to my writer's block, it's not going as quickly as it should. At this point I can safetly say it won't be ready to be machinimated or for me to even call for voice actors until at least early next year. And that's not counting the holidays between now and then that may slow progress.

Magical World and Murlocs

Hey guys, sorry I've been neglecting my site for so long, but I really haven't been up to much. My computer went into a coma and I haven't been able to wake it up yet. Hopefully it's just the power source which we were gonna have to replace anyways in order to install a new graphics card. We've just not had the time to go in and get it done. So for now I'm making machinima on my mom's computer, experimenting with in game footage, which has actually come out well ^^

If you're following me on youtube you'll have seen these already, I've released two machinimas recently, one for a song done by DarkPippi and another to a song by Bassnectar.

Magical World
I don't remember how I had come across this song, but as soon as I heard it, it made me think of worgens, more specifically, my Worgen Druid, RavenSylphe. At the time RavenSylphe had only been like lvl 24 so I didn't have much to work with her. But now she's over lvl 60 so I had a bit more to work with and I felt that my youtube had gone too long without a new video :)

It was a lot of fun to do, though I wish I'd had WoW Machinima Tool (WMT) for certain parts of it. It could have given me some better angles among other things. But what's done is done, here's me hoping that an update will be made soon for WMT so me and many other machinimators have that wonderful tool again ^^
Truth About Murlocs

I have been watching DarkPippi for a while now and have been sad to see that none of his songs have machinimas for them. So I decided to start doing some for him :) The first one I've done for him is for his song "Truth About Murlocs," a parody of "Rainbow Connection."

This one was fun to put together ^^ though there are certain parts that I wish I could've done over. Oh well. Enjoy ^^

Other Projects

I have other things in the works, including future videos for DarkPippi, a few music videos to copyrighted and royalty-free music, and hopefully a few collaborations here and there. But my bigest project, my series, the Silverborn, is on hold until we get my computer up and running. All of my information for it is on my comatose computer :( so I won't be able to work on it 'til my computer wakes up.

I haven't been giving my site much love, have I? Sorry about that, been pretty busy lately, with a lot more than just WoW and machinima. Just helped my cousin and aunt move yesterday and I can barely move my body, but I think I've lost a couple of pounds ^^ yay for painful weightloss x3

Long Time No See

Gosh, it's been a while since my last post.

Unfortunately, I haven't been up to much, been raiding with mah guild, looking for a job, and hanging out with Isolte on Second Life. Not much machinima related. Recently, however, I have begun working on "We Were Gladiators" for Kirstie Anne and am about halfway done with it after going back through and redoing and re-editing spots that I wasn't really happy with. I'm also working on a machinima clip for RomireVids, for his short movie "For the Horde: The Final Journey" or whatever it was called x3

I'm also in the working in the beginning stages of a machinima that is going to feature a lot of ingame footage. The song I am going to use for this one is "Abracadabra" by the Steve Miller Band. It's gonna be kind of a love story between a draenei dk, Toturo (puppeteered by my brother), and a troll mage, Clomatro (puppeteered by me). This song was actually suggested to me by my mom. Though, in her original idea, Clomatro was going to be a blood elf mage, but my brother refused to participate if that was the case and demanded that she be a troll instead.

I've been wanting to make a machinima with ingame footage again for a long time. Here's hoping this comes out as good as I'm hoping it will ^^ However, I have to get mah little troll mage to at least 50 before I can really work on the video. Wish me luck!

Well I finally got everything done to ensure the ability to get donations through ChipIn. I'm not going to sit here and beg for donations, as much as they'd be appriciated, I'm not going to push it. Feel free to donate if you really want to.

In other news, I have officially decided on a series to make into a machinima.
Silverborn: The Gatekeepers

It's actually more of an entire world. Silverborn is going take place in the world of CréMháthair (don't ask me how to pronounce that, I'm still a n00b when it comes to irish gaelic) a world I created all on my own. I am going to take elements from World of Warcraft and Dragon Age: Origins in order to create this world and the machinima series. Right now I'm still learning the basics of the DA:O toolset, and have only been able to create enviroments and character head morphs successfully.

For the Gatekeepers series, I'm planning on doing what I normally do with my machinima, except I'll be using Dragon Age for the backgrounds instead of WoW. All of the characters will be done with WoW model viewer. I have a small portion of the script done for episode one, which will take a while to be written I think, since I still have so much to write when it comes to the culture, history, mythology, and peoples of the world.

That's all I've got for now.

You have no clue how excited this made me! Though I was a bit skeptical at first. After sending messages back and forth with Stu, as well as checking up on the channel, it all seems pretty legit.

The first video they wanted to host, for a short trial run, was AttentionWhore. Unfortunately, they uploaded it to their channel before I really got a chance to say 'yea' or 'nay' or even talk with Isolte about it. Thankfully, tho, they were nice enough (and smart enough) to give both of us full credit, even being good enough to put annotation links in the video itself.

I hope Isolte is okay with this. It should get us both a ton of subs (I had like 20 waiting for me when I got on the comp this morning and have gotten about 10 since (I'm not very good at keeping track of #s x3)).

Oh, and before I forget. I told them to check out WoPairs and Quix0tica and hopefully extend to them the same deal. They both definitely deserve the publicity.

Hey guys, I'm calling on you to help me make a decision. I'm having a hard time choosing a song for an independent machinima. I am definetly still going to work on my collaborations, but I do need a break from them everyonce in a while and an independent video will also serve as stress relief. I have quite a few songs that I would love to do a video to, but I am having a hard time choose just one to work on right now. I'd like your guy's opinon on which one you would like to see machinimated.

Have you heard of Dragon Age: Origins? It's an epic adventure from the makers of Mass Effect™, Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic™, and Baldur's Gate™. I have been obsessed with this game for like the last several months and I just recently found out they have this really awesome tool that allows the user to make maps, adventures, storylines, cutscenes, ect just like the game developers! I think it would be just awesome to have for making machinima. It's free, but only to registered owners of the pc version of the game. Unfortunetly, I only have the xbox 360 version so I'm kinda out of luck there. I'd love to have the pc version even just so I can the tool set. I could make epic machinima with this! Especially since I'm thinking of making a series again. Even you want to find out more information on this you can go to the Official Dragon Age website and check out this page. I can't start asking for donation just yet, as I have some things I need to get straightened out so I can a paypal account up and running, but I thought I'd just put the idea out there and see what you guys think.

There are very few in the WoW machinima industry that actually do original songs and makes such wonderful machinima. The Greyfoo is one such person!

I've been a huge fan of his since I first listened to his video/song Spacebar Clown and have been following him diligently since. I can definetly say I'd love to work with the guys someday. His style of music and machinima are very much his own and so original it just draws you in. His video style is very simple, but that just makes it all the more effective and all the more pleasing to watch ^^ to be honest, flashy complex videos tend to rub me raw despite how much I might enjoy them. Greyfoo's videos are definetly a breath of fresh air amongst all the WoW rap parodies (not that I don't enjoy it, it's just nice to have some variety).

His latest video, guest starring the lovely and talented EmberIsolte, is a nice addition to his channel. I just love it!

After receiving that fact that WoW insider had done yet another MovieWatch article for my latest video "Epic" with Crykoda and RedX, I decided to look through and see what else of mine they had written an article about.

They have written articles for almost everything I've done so far; Ninja Raiders (two in fact), On The Horde, Shut Up and Grind, AttentionWhore, and now Epic.

I know at least a few people are going to look at this article and think that I'm talking about this to show off. ...okay maybe a little, but truth is, if anything, this feels like far too much pressure on me. I love that people are loving my machinima so much so far, but I feel like this is only pushing me to a breaking point sometimes. However, I feel that I can't just stop what I'm doing because of pressure. If I were that weak willed I wouldn't be taking an extra year of high school, pursuing my diploma. Machinima has become an artistic pursuit for me and I'm not about to quit.

I love machinima, and I don't think I'm going to stop anytime soon, no matter what anyone does or says.

And for those who have a problem with this, in the immortal words of Ninja Raiders, I say to you

Paladins, Dragons, and Elves! Oh My!

My biggest ambition after making machinima for a parody artist, was to make my own machinima series.

I think I may have found an idea of one that I would like to do.

The Whispering Fire

"When young paladin Karimey Lightborn saves the life of an injured member of the Red Dragonflight, she finds herself caught in a life and death struggle that could engulf the whole of Azeroth if she doesn't do something and soon."

I've been wanting to delve into the Dragonflights for a long time now and I think I've finally found the best way for me to do it. Most of the characters I've come up with so far are members of the main dragon flights; Red, Blue, Black, Bronze, and Green.

The main characters for this story are Karimey Lightborn and Amunstrasz of the Red Flight.

Karimey is based off of my own human Paladin who bears the same name. Karimey is a very strong willed individual who will do anything to keep her people safe. Just like most who bear the title Paladin, she is very much a soldier of the Light, following its command and using her Light given powers to fight against evil, from the Burning Legion to the Scourge.

She is also a very kind soul, helping all who need it, never seeking anything for herself in such deeds, this is how she comes to help Amunstrasz in his hour of need.

(Not sure what else to put here.)

I'm planning on voicing this character myself...as soon as I can get a better mic.

As for Amunstrasz, he is sort of based on a blood elf rogue I made a long time ago though I changed the hair color to suit the fact that he is now a dragon of the Red Dragon Flight. Basically, for a large majority of the series he will be seen in his disguise of a high elf rogue (yes, high elf, not blood elf).

He is a very honor bound man(?). After Karimey saves him he swears to serve her until his debt is repaid, despite all of her protests. However, he doesn't realize how much he has pulled her into this conflict by doing so.

He is going to need a voice actor since I don't know anyone with a voice that quite suits him.

I have many other characters that will make an appearance in this story, from supporting major to minor ones, many who will need voice actors. I'll put up more information depending on how much attention this gets x3

Remember, I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to completely go through with this, but I'm really hoping to do this.

It's been a little while since I started all of the collaborations that I am currently working on, and I find that I have far too many. Because of this I can barely get any work done with any of them. After I get done with this huge work load (as well as a quick break), I am going to limit the number of projects that I will do at one time to 3 or 4, depending on how much work I am going to have to put into each. At least 1 of those will be a personal project so that leaves me with at least 2 slots open for collaborations.

In other news, I am also working on a novel that I am titeling "Necro", the first in a short series that I have planned, and a comic book series, "Dragonkin" (I am so trying to kill myself!). Both stories take place in the same world of Dragon Song.

Necro is about Alick of Stonebird, a young Warden, and his charge, necromancer Ghaqy Maddayrha. The premises behind this story is "What if dark isn't necessarily bad?" This is why I chose one of the main characters as a necromancer, though I haven't even reached her in the story yet, lol.

Dragonkin follows dragonkin girl Azrea Greenscale and her drake father Bazkhul in their adventures with the 59th Dragoneeres. (For those who are curious, a dragonkin is the child of a human and a drake, while drakes are the children of dragons and humans. Don't ask me how that works, I haven't quite figured that out.)

Anyways, Spring Break is also over for me, so it's back to school and hours of sitting infront of a computer with nothing to do, but work on said novel and comic.

Anyone know what a M.E.P. is?

M.E.P. = Multi Editor Project

When I go looking at AMVs [Anime Music Videos] and GMVs [Game Music Videos] I find M.E.P.s all over the place. What are they? They are Multi Editor Projects, where multiple AMV/GMV creators get together and make music videos. Each editor gets a certain amount of the song in which they produce video, the length of their part depending on how many editors there are.

Well, I've been juggling the idea around for a while, but I've decided to put the idea out for you guys to comment on. And what is this idea? Why to have a M.E.P. for machinima! Well I guess that would be M.M.P. (multi machinimator project x3) actually. We would get a few machinimators together, pick out a song which we would then divide into parts that each of us would work on. I think it's an awesome idea ^_^

Unfortunately, with the way YouTube is about copyrighted music, it would probably be hard to find a song to do it to. So that's where I came up with this other idea. Instead of just an MMP (which would still be awesome idea if we could find the right song), it instead be a M.M.P.A.P., or Multi Machinimator and Parody Artist Project, where a few machinimators and parody artists would get together and produce an awesome music video. We would get together a few machinmators and parody artists, find a song to parody, split up into teams, 1 parody artist to 1 machinimator (I CALL ISOLTE! lol). The parody artists would do their parts and the machinmators would machinimate ONLY the part that their artist did. I think it would be an awesome way to show all of the awesome machinimators and parody artists out there in one video! It could include well known machinimators/parody artists and some of the unknowns.

Unfortunately, with all the work I'm having to do right now, I wouldn't be able to start it up for a li'l while.

Anyways, let me know whatcha think, though I don't know if I explained it very well...>>

A Quick Update - March 11, 2010

Well now that WoW is working for me again I'm working again on machinima.
Here's a quick look at what I'm doin.

I'm still hard at work on Alli Always Die for Xylan and Shadowstep. I have most of it done in Sony Vegas and am busy importing the footage into After Effects to add some neat effects. I'll hopefully have that one done here soon.

I'm also working hard on We Were Gladiators for KirstieAnne and Furious Phil. Trying some new things with that one and doing it compeletly in Sony Vegas since in order to do what I want, After Effects would be too muh. That one should be done not long, if not before, Alli Always Die.

I'm also now working on the Official video for EmberIsolte's Attention Whore. I'm also doing some experimenting with this one. Working with textures and overlays. I'll do as much as I can with After Fx with this one as I can. No going to over do it though as I'm still new to the program. I hope you'll like it Isolte!

I've yet to start working on Epic Gear for Dark, Wick, Instictz, and Vofgofm. I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with it yet, having a hard time trying to translate it to machinima. Unfortunetly, I'm not too entirely sure about the characters of each singer. I'll start working on that soon though.

I've also got a few more collaborations that may be coming. One with Cryssy for sure and another that I'm not too sure about.

I'm really happy that I'm getting so many collaborations, but it's getting kinda overwhelming. If you need something machinimated, I'll think about it, and, if I accept, you'll have to remember to be really patient. Thanks. TTYL!

Before WoW...

Before I knew about World of Warcraft Machinima, even before I had started that first character in the game itself, there was Bungie, Halo, and Halo machinima.

I've been a huge fan of Halo since the release of Halo 1, playing all the games, pwning n00bs in multiplayer online matches, saving the universe from the misguided minds of the Prophets and the Covenant.

I basically found Halo machinima the same way I did WoW machinima; hopped on YouTube one day and found a video done by a really good machinima studio. In this case, instead of Oxhorn, it was imSuck of Hollywood Halo. That first video was HMV Hell 1, a hilarous video inspired by the AMV series and is very similar to Olibith's Never Stay Tuned series.

For the longest time I wanted to make my own Halo machinima, and I still do, but, unfortunetly it's not as easy to do as WoW machinima, since there is no Halo model viewer and video can only be taken with a capture card which can be pretty expensive. It also requires finding people who are willing to be puppeteers and all that good stuff. I'd love to make at least one Halo machinima some day, but for now, I'm going to have to stick with WoW, though it's not like that's a bad thing =)

I Need a Time Machine

Just a quick update....I am sooooo happy! I've gotten a few commissions for collabs from some really awesome people!

One video I am doing is "Alli Always Die" for Xylan and Shadowstep. I've actually been working on this one for a while, and, I think, should have had it done by now. But unfortunetly, I've had a few things get in my way recently, but, hopefully, I should have it done here real soon.

Second video I'm working on is "Flag Spawn" for H.O.Y.T. and PvPSiennah. This one is closer to completion than any of the others and should be done soon.

Third is a video for "Epic Gear" by Dak, Wick, Instinctz, and Vofgofm. Dak basically just sent me the commission for this one so I haven't had the chance to really work on it yet, but I certainly do look forward to it ^^

Fourth, and last so far, is a video for KirstieAnne and Furious Phil for their song "We Were Gladiators." I really look foreward to working on the video for this one, it is just so awesome x3

Anyways, I hope everyone looks foreward to all these videos ^^

Gosh, so much HAS happened since the last time I blogged. If you haven't noticed, I've gotten Sony Vegas back and have released a video since the beginning of the year. The video was for the song On the Horde by KirstieAnne, Cryssy, and Sharm. Go check it out and let me know whatcha think ^^

I've also decided to make a dk on EmberIsolte's realm and spent the other night goofing around in Hellfire Peninsula with her and her husband. Gosh I had soooo much fun. Thanks so much you two! If you wanna find my new dk, she's on Daggerspine and her name is...can ya guess it?...DISANI! xD

Anyways, I've also got three videos that I'm working on that are for WoW parodies. One is of course for Isolte. The other two are for Xylan and Shadowstep, and H.O.Y.T. and PvP Siennah (is that spelled right?)

My New Years Resolution is....

Hey, everyone! Happy 2010! It's hard to believe how quickly 2009 went and how wonderful the end of the year was for me. I definetly have to thank everyone who commented, favorited, and viewed my videos, especially Ninja Raiders. It was so surprising how much of a success Ninja Raiders became, from the article posted at wow insider, the over 60,000 views, over 700 +favs, 226 comments, and the over 200 subscribers that both me and Isolte have gotten since the video was released. Thank you so much everyone! And a special thank you to Isolte, for being so wonderful and so patient.

In other news...it looks like it's going to be a while before I can really start pumping out videos...I no longer have sony vegas since my trial of it has expired, but I should hopefully be getting it soon from either my parents (who are sooooo proud of what I've accomplished with this) or my grandmother (who apparently thinks it's the neatest thing she's ever seen).

Here's hoping all my wishes come true and I can start making more videos for y'all to see.

Again, thank you Isolte for being patient with me. I'm sorry it's taking me so long to get things done.

A Machinimator's Work Is Never Done

Gosh, it's so exciting to have so much attention(even though it's not as high as found on other videos) on a video I MADE! However, I can only bask in this awesomeness for only so long as a machinimator's work is never done! *dramatic music*

So, I'm working hard on getting a video done for Ember's "Shut Up and Grind" as well as trying to figure out a song to use for an independent music video. Kinda stuck on what to do, but I do have a few ideas.

In more WoW related news, I just got a second character to 80! My bloodelf hunter Andred is now lvl 80, second to my belf dk, Disani. I'm already working hard on gearing her and getting emblems so I can get some twink gear for my little undead priest. Here's hoping I can start leveling her soon!

*sigh* I'm so close to finishing the video for Ninja Raiders, but World of Warcraft isn't working for me right now so I can't get footage from OS (Obsidian Sanctum), which I need for the part in the second verse.

In other news, (I think) Ember Isolte and I are officially partners! She will be making more awesome parody songs with that wonderful voice of hers and I will be making (hopefully) awesome videos for them. This makes me sooooooooo happy =D

Once I get down with Ninja Raiders, my next video will be for Ember's song Shut Up and Grind.

In a few hours, I should have my first full length WoW machinima posted up. It's done for the song "Looking Back No More" by L.O.A.S. and is mostly done in game with a few characters of mine (all blood elves x3) with a few things made in WoW model viewer. I had a lot of fun making this and it only took me a few days of random footage and editing. I cetainly enjoy it, I hope you will, too.

Because I was finishing this, I didn't have much time today or yesterday to work on the video for "Ninja Raiders" but should have some small bits done by tomorrow night.

lol yeah, sorry I haven't been around much guys and for not posting anything productive since I (attempted to) uploaded "Trolls are a Bad Influence" (which can still be found on WarcraftMovies.com and WeGame(I'll post up links later on)). Good news is I have a few videos that I am at least half way done with, if not less, most have characters in place, but no backgrounds. I've been too lazy to go record footage from WoW itself. And I've been busy leveling a Blood Elf Hunter (lvl 74 FTW!) and getting four other character to at least 20.

I hope to have at least one video posted up as soon as possible, seeing as I might have more free time then before...or at least the ability to stay up later.

Oh man, I could just scream!!! I'm just in the beginnings of a HUGE project and the latest patch BREAKS MODEL VIEWER!!!!!

*sigh* guess I'll just have to do something with my old computer...reinstall Wow without patching or something.....*sigh*
